Wii - Connectivity

This is the first part of the two part blog of why the wii is miles behind every other console in even the simple things. Last night i had the task of connecting four wii controllers to my wii, seems simple enough eh? The first two were easy, as they connect automatically because they were mine, however, to connect the second pair a had to press the connect buttons. Right, if this was an xbox or a PS3 this would have took a matter of seconds and yet the wii took about 20 minutes. Why?! This long process involved getting three controllers connected and then, for some reason, the wii disconnecting all controllers making me start over. My question is, why can't people just learn to use a proper controller?
